Hastily evacuated Orbital Research Station-9 (ORS-9) spirals toward atmospheric re-entry above a densely populated world. Ancient biotechnologies, but that research has gone catastrophically wrong. A swarm of nanoscopic organisms – Radiophile-Reducers (called “RedRads”) – have escaped confinement and are consuming the metal containment vessel surrounding the station’s fusion reactor powerplant. If breached, the reactor will explode, obliterating nearby satellites, silencing global communications. But if that occurs in the atmosphere, millions below could be poisoned. must board ORS-9, contain the leak, stabilize the station’s orbit, and prevent the reactor’s detonation. They must also survive exposure to the powerplant’s radiation and a corrosive by-product of the RedRads’ insatiable appetite. Every delay raises the danger to player characters and planet alike.
